Cheating is considered an incredibly despicable act, and yet it has a lot to do with the desire, freedom, and perhaps – if interpreted differently – even the health of a couple. But how to arrive at a solution? By skilfully mixing the literary tradition and one's own experience, criticism and practice, we will try to understand first of all why the idea of ​​abandoning exclusivity in the couple is so opposed, and then to analyze the multiple nuances of a word that it sounds like a stab, and yet, sometimes, it attracts us inexorably. After the successful investigation into the repressed ambiguities in Italian literature, Luca Starita returns to the bookstores with a new essay on an element that has always followed and pervades the lives of those who write and those who live, and yet always remains far too hidden.

Luca Starita (Naples, 1988) lives in Florence where he works for the Giunti publishing house. Graduated in Italian Studies with a thesis on queerness in Aldo Palazzeschi's fiction, he is a writer, playwright and specialized in Digital Humanities. He collaborates with the magazines «La città dei Lavoratori» and «Cultweek», and excerpts from him can also be found in «Rewriters», «La falla», «Fronesis», «L’ eco del niente». He holds a workshop at the Holden school in Turin in which the themes of Italian queer fiction are addressed. He published the novel The Hippocampus Thesis (2019) and the essay Ambiguous Canon.
